"If
only" are the saddest words
When looking back we see
How grave the choice we thought was right
When thinking of only "me."
Moses' song laments their ignorance
A nation with no discerning sense;
Their apostasy known in advance by God
But still he came to their defense.
The peace was hidden from their eyes
They did not see God's coming;
And Jesus wept for love of them,
But still they kept on stumbling.
The rich man cried in agony
Form the place of great torment,
"If only my brothers could know,
I'm sure they would repent."
"If only" are the saddest words
When life has ceased to be;
There is no chance to change the course,
To accept the gift that's free.
He's given all the choice to come
Belief in the Christ, His Son;
IF ONLY you accept this love
Before your life is done.
Don't let your loved ones lament this phrase
When they place you in the ground;
Decide today to follow Christ
And know where you are bound.

Jn. 3:16 )
