SONG OF JOY
© 2000 Sandy Uzpurvis

Joyous sing the wonderful message,
Angels heralding the Word;
Christ is born in Bethlehem's manger,
Fearful shepherds soon concurred.

Long awaited, much expected,
Messiah now at last is here;
Star of David shines so brightly,
Infant Christ to man draws near.

Tucked in hearts today we ponder
As Mary did so long ago,
God's call, absolute submission,
Can we our plans likewise forego?

That baby wrapped in swaddling clothes
With his righteousness now clothes me;
Such array already purchased,
By the Man on Calvary's tree.

God's trumpet call will bring the angels
Once again to fearful souls;
The Name of God upon white stallion,
Riding on the clouds foretold.

Oh, the splendor of that Day
When Light of Life to us appears;
Every eye beholds the Savior,
Every knee to bow in fear.

Joyous song, we join the Angels,
Exalt and worship Christ our King!
Born in hearts no more to suffer,
Spirit sealed our crowns we bring.
