DREAMS & VISIONS

We know about the dreams God sent to men of old;
The difficulties caused by Jacob's decree so bold.
Daniel's revelation to a king of pride;
John's anointed blessing from which no one will hide.

God spoke through dreams and visions;
Sharing with men his decisions;
Guiding stumbling man--
Carrying out His plan.

Today our dreams are fantasy of what to us seems right;
Wishful thinking gratified by mortal selfish delight.
Visions filled with glory of that "someday" we perceive;
Thinking we know God's plan while we ourselves deceive.

God speaks through dreams and visions
Told by men through his Word;
Guiding stumbling man--
Until everyone has heard.
V We are the object of His dreams, the people of His vision;
But we can only live with Him if we seek remission.
The dreams we fancy to create are only an illusion;
To somehow self-save from our own confusion.

God promises through dreams and visions
In the last days to display;
Guiding stumbling man--
To the judgment day.

God grant us mercy in our weakness to understand Your dream;
To try to fathom the vision of Your design supreme.
To cast aside our impertinent thought, created by the flesh;
And live in spiritual reality, our souls with you to mesh.

We want to be the dreams and visions
That you for us intended;
To stumble less while being blessed
And forever mended.

We praise you God for perfect dreams, the ones we know are true;
Revealed in bond for wayward man who doesn't have a clue.
Filled with your Holy Spirit and power from above;
We claim the dream created through our Father's love.

We shall possess the dreams and visions
By the choices that we make;
We can stumble into Heaven
Or make a big mistake.
