It is the beginning of a new year,
I celebrate because I am still here.
I show great enthusiasm and great cheer,
for it's the beginning of a new year.
All my heartaches and problems are in the past,
all my happiness is here at last.
I know my God is very near,
for it's the beginning of a new year.
I look forward to winter, summer, spring, and fall
because God showed His beauty in it all.
The sky and water are so clear,
for it's the beginning of a new year.
Flowers shall bloom, crops will grow,
the sun will shine the moon will glow.
There will be laughing and there will be tears,
for it's the beginning of a new year.
We have our good times and our bad,
we have our happy times and our sad.
We have our friends and all our peers,
for it's the beginning of a new year.
Thank you, Jesus, for each new day,
this is what I wanted to say.
"Heavenly Father, You're so dear,
Thank you for giving us a brand new year."
